Official Website of Charlbury Town Council
The Town Council meets twice each month and sponsors a room for the Conservation Advisory Committee. All meetings are open to the public. Members of the public wishing to address the Council may do so by arrangement with the Clerk.
CRAG invites you to a very special event on Saturday 19th November when Freshta Karim, an internationally recognised Afghan child’s rights activist, now a refugee living in Oxford, is coming to Charlbury to talk about her experience of setting up children’s libraries in Kabul.
Freshta’s talk will will be followed by discussion and a buffet supper of vegetarian or meat chilli with rice, followed by a selection of desserts. The event will take place in The Memorial Hall, Charlbury. Doors open at 5.45 and the talk will start at 6.
To book a place (so we know how many to cater for) please email secretary@charlburyrefugee.org.uk by Thursday 17th November at the latest (earlier would be great!). Please let us know if you’d like the vegetarian or meat option for the meal and if you have any dietary restrictions.
A donation of £10 (payable on the door) is suggested and all proceeds will be in aid of Afghan refugees.
