Official Website of Charlbury Town Council
The Town Council meets twice each month and sponsors a room for the Conservation Advisory Committee. All meetings are open to the public. Members of the public wishing to address the Council may do so by arrangement with the Clerk.
OCC will be resurfacing Park Street / Grammar School Hill in Charlbury between the junction with Hixet Wood and the junction with Shilson’s Lane. Works are being undertaken overnight to minimise disruption to the local schools, bus services and the running of the Cornbury Estate.
Works are programmed for Wednesday 11th & Thursday 12th September 2024; 20:00 – 06:00Hrs each night and will be facilitated by a full road closure and a locally signed diversion around Charlbury (plans attached). The scope includes full width resurfacing between Hixet wood to a point just past your estate entrance (shown as red). Further discrete patching will then be carried out on the remaining closed sections (shown as yellow).
Letters will be sent out to all residents and frontages along this stretch.
Advance warning signs will be installed 2 weeks prior to starting and ‘No Parking’ cones installed 24Hrs before to ensure on-street parking does not hinder the works.
Gatemen will be on hand to assist with managing residential and pedestrian access throughout all closures.
The footway will remain open throughout and be kept segregated from works area by barrier / cones.
