Sunday 5th May is the date for this year’s Annual Boundary Walk. Why not come along this year and walk around Charlbury over land not usually available to traverse?
The walk is 10.5 miles long and classed as ‘medium’ difficulty.
Meet your walk leader, Tony Merry, at the Old Oak on Forest Hill at 10am. There will be a refreshment stop at Model Farm where you are welcome to join (or leave) if you don’t fancy walking the whole route.
This year we are commemorating the centenary of the tragedy where 3 children drowned in the Evenlode. There will be a short commemoration following the walk, with refreshments provided by the scouts, a brief history on what happened from Rob Stepney, and a few words said by Fergus, vicar at St Mary’s (as St Mary’s ran the walk back in 1924). This will be held at Mill Field at about 4pm if you would just like to come along for this.
